Ways to Fight Excessive Sweating
I was talking to a person I know from the gym about sweating the other day. She sweats a lot during her workout, but what she was really worried about was how much she sweats when she’s not working out. She told me that her excessive underarm sweating was getting in the way of her work and, worse, interfering with her romantic life. At work, she was applying deodorant several times per day and still having problems with sweat coming through her clothes. Her sweating was making her embarrassed to go on dates, since she was worried what the guy would think if he saw a giant sweat stain. Gross! In short, my friend was frustrated.
Here are a few tips for staying drier I gave my friend.
- Shower and shave your underarms every day. This is the minimum you should do. The odor from sweating is caused by bacteria, and reducing places for bacteria to hide will help with the sweat smell.
- Change your deodorant. Some people respond differently to different brands. You might just need to find one that works for you. On the other hand, some people don’t really respond to any deodorant…
- Wear an undershirt or some type of undergarment. This will help keep the sweat from showing through, and also helps with the smell. White and Black hide sweat better, gray shows it.
For some people (like me!) none of these things work really well. Well, you can go to the doctor to get prescription strength antiperspirant that might cause irritation or rashes. A better alternative, which really helped me out, is to check out this stop sweating program that really solved my sweating problems.
After I talked to my friend at the gym, I realized how much happier I am now than when I was sweating all over the place, staining my clothes and showering twice a day. If this is you, you need to do something about it!
One Armpit Sweating?
A friend asked me the other day if I had ever heard of somebody sweating just under one armpit. I said “yes, me!” because I used to sweat under my right arm but not my left. I used to think it was completely weird, but I’ve heard from several people that it happens to them, too.
This was all a few years ago when I had a lot of trouble with excessive sweating. Every time I went to the gym, I noticed that my right armpit would get twice as sweaty as the left, and even when I wasn’t exercising or anything my right arm was sweating. All my clothes had much worse stains on the right side. I was worried that I had some kind of weird disease or something. My doctor didn’t seem concerned, though, so I didn’t think anything of it until I met several other women with the same problem.
If you have problems with sweating under one arm more than the other, and regular antiperspirants aren’t working, I’d recommend checking out this method to reduce or eliminate your sweating problem. It worked great for my right arm!
